About Us

A friend told me, while on the back porch, “If I was a writer, I would come here and wouldn't leave until I finished writing my book.”

My vision for Nine Peaks Asheville has been to create a place that feels like home, that is also a respite from our busy world. Leave the stress of everyday life behind as you enter this mountain refuge. The panoramic mountain view across the valley is of the Pisgah National Forest. It's not only an amazing view, these mountains also hold old logging roads for biking, hiking and horseback riding. The access trailhead to these picturesque mountains is less than a mile away.

Looking out from the back porch, wildlife is never far from view. A large field to the left has cows and one to the right has horses. Birds soaring across the open sky are plentiful. Hawks, and even a bald eagle, have been seen coming out of the valley and soaring over the house. Several mornings a week you may see 6-8 deer feeding just below the house. Driving up to Nine Peaks Asheville deer have also been known to bound across the roads, giving you an up close view of these graceful creatures.

The sun rises across the valley left of center and bathes the house in light all day long. Large and plentiful windows allow not only natural light but expansive views of the mountain range and their nine peaks. At night, the stars shine brightly above the darkness of the National Forest. Star gazing is easily accomplished, thanks to the lack of city lights in the valley below.

Rain or shine, it's a good day to be on the back porch, with two covered areas on each level. You can watch storms move in from the west and across the valley. Inside on the main level, or private room over the garage, you can listen to the rhythm of the rain falling on the metal roof. On the bottom level it’s so quiet you, won’t even know it’s raining but can enjoy the view of falling rain, while you snuggle up on the couch to relax in front of the television or enjoy a good book.

I want to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. As a resident of this area for 30+ years I have knowledge of the restaurants, activities, and attractions that Asheville and the surrounding landscape has to offer. View my recommended restaurants and attractions in the Restaurant + Attractions page above or feel free to reach out to me, via the email below, for personalized suggestions. I hope you enjoy staying at Nine Peaks Asheville as much as I've enjoyed bringing my vision to life. I hope it can become a place where you'll feel so at home, you'll want to return again and again. My wife and I welcome you to Nine Peaks Asheville.
